Laura Tripaldi – Soft Future: Technology After Machines
Philosopher, science writer and materials researcher Laura Tripaldi reimagines the future of technology beyond rigid computation and mechanization. Exploring fields like soft robotics, biological computation, and microbial engineering, her talk invites us to consider alternative technological paradigms rooted in softness, embodiment, and transformation.
Laura Tripaldi is a writer and scientist with a background in nanotechnology. She is the author of the acclaimed Parallel Minds: Discovering the Intelligence of Materials (MIT Press, 2022).
Solveig Qu Suess – Intimate Terrains
Artist and filmmaker Solveig Qu Suess navigates the entanglements between large-scale infrastructure and personal memory. Her recent film explores how energy networks reshape river ecologies, while reflecting on the silences surrounding her mother’s work in the optics industry of 1980s China. Moving between planetary systems and private archives, her work reveals the deep links between technological and emotional landscapes.
Solveig Qu Suess is an artist and researcher working at the intersection of documentary cinema, infrastructure studies, and feminist media. Her work has been featured in art institutions and film festivals internationally, with a focus on spatial and postcolonial techno-politics.
