Huiyi Chen is a Shanghai and New York based artist, researcher, and educator. She flies kites to trace the shape of wind, tastes grass to choose the color of film, and turns kitchens into frequencies of pitch. Her work explores the subtle interplay between the mundaneness of everyday life and the power structures that shape it. She was a research resident at ITP and has taught at the Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University.
