The Interactive Media Arts Low Residency (Low Res) Master of Arts program invites you to its in-person “Thesis ‘23 Show & Presentations" on Wednesday, June 21 & Thursday, June 22. The show will be open from 3-5pm CT in the third floor IMA Studio on both days and the presentations will run from 6-9pm CT in the fourth floor IMA studio on both days as well. There will also be a Zoom Webinar open to watch all of the presentations live. (Note, the presentations scheduled for 9am -11am CT will be remote students presenting from the US.)
IMA Low Res is a 1-year masters program, jointly owned between NYU Shanghai and NYU Tisch School of the Arts, that involves three site-specific in-person residencies at NYU New York, Berlin and Shanghai interspersed by two semesters of remote online learning. The"Thesis '23 Show & Presentations" are an opportunity to experience and celebrate the culminating work of this year’s graduating class. It will feature student work created in the “Thesis” course, which runs in the latter half of the program starting in the online Spring semester and finishing in the final 5-week in-person Summer session hosted by NYU Shanghai.
Similar to the IMA Capstone, IMA Low Res Thesis challenges students to conceptualize, design, implement and document an interactive project of their own choosing. The Thesis project encapsulates the IMA Low Res Masters program by challenging students to identify an area of inquiry that resonates with their personal interests and conduct practice-based research, skill-building, artistic exploration, user testing and iteration resulting in a final project representing their understanding, insights and creativity.
