ABOUT PHOEBE HUI
Phoebe Hui is an artist, researcher and art educator. She received her MFA at UCLA Design Media Art, Los Angeles, her MA in Fine Art at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, London, and her BA in Creative Media from City University of Hong Kong. After grad school, she was awarded the HKETO Yale-China Art Fellowship, which enabled her to conduct research on sonic art and chaos theory at Yale University.
Her research-based art practice explores how technology transforms our perception of reality. She is interested in scrutinizing how things are structured and organized, and experimenting with the possibility of arranging our sense of reality in unexpected ways through creating her own software and machines. Her recent research focuses on ideas drawn from the philosophy of science and machine learning.
