As the last remaining section of Historic Sanlin Old Street (三林老街) faces demolition this April, we ask, what lives and memories can be passed on? Responding to this moment of displacement, we invite you to join The Plants We Pass On: Growing a Living Archive, a plant adoption and living archive initiative connecting Sanlin residents with members of the NYU Shanghai community.
In this workshop, we will go into household, connect with residents and co-create a sensory map of Sanlin Laojie through sound, photos, textures, 3d scanning, and oral stories.
