How does music form community? Building and Sharing explores how sound and music turn strangers into friends.

Abstract
What happens when you put four strangers with similar interests together to build a pair of speakers?
Building and Sharing documents the stories that emerged from a community speaker-building workshop — an experience that brought four strangers together and turned them into friends. What started as a hands-on building project became something much more: a space for honest conversations, shared memories, and unexpected connections.
Through discussions about music, DJing, and the moments that have shaped their lives, each participant opens up about who they are and where they come from. The workshop became a backdrop for something deeper — a reminder that building something together has a way of breaking down walls and bringing people closer.
Each member takes home their own speaker at the end of the workshop, a physical reminder of what they created — not just in wood and wire, but in friendship and story. In the same way, each participant is given their own space in this project to highlight their unique voice. Every story was chosen with community in mind, reflecting the idea that the things we build together say just as much about us as the things we build alone.
Building and Sharing is about more than speakers. It's about what happens when people show up, get their hands dirty, and let themselves be known.
